ABOUT

MEET ATTORNEY PETER M. NAVIS

In 2026, Peter M. Navis founded Solid Rock Law Office, LLC to serve clients in guardianships, estate planning, probate, and elder justice matters. With 18 years of legal experience, he is known for his courtroom success, attention to detail, his passion for educating clients, and his advocacy for changes in the law to protect the vulnerable.

Since beginning his career in 2007, Attorney Navis has focused on advocating for older adults, individuals with disabilities, and those with mental illness. He has handled over a thousand cases involving guardianship, protective placement, and mental commitments, serving as Guardian ad Litem, counsel for families, and attorney for the county. His experience includes complex jury trials, probate matters, and comprehensive estate planning for individuals and families.

In addition to his legal practice, Attorney Navis regularly provides training to lawyers, judges, and other professionals on guardianship, estate planning, and mental health law. He considers it a privilege to share his experience and his passion with others, to remind the attendees to stay focused on the person at the center of these cases and matters, and to encourage them to do what is right rather than what is easy.

Attorney Navis currently serves on two statewide organizations that share his commitment to and passion for the vulnerable: the Wisconsin Elder Justice Coalition and the Working Interdisciplinary Network of Guardianship Stakeholders – Wisconsin (WINGS – Wisconsin). Attorney Navis works with other like-minded professionals to educate others and raise awareness, to advocate for the vulnerable, and to collaborate with other organizations and partners.

In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his wife, kids, and the family dog, hiking and exploring the great outdoors, serving as a Trustee for his church, discussing legal conundrums in Wis. Stat. chs. 51 – 55, and discovering oddities in Wisconsin law, including Wis. Stat. § 175.15 and John F. Jelke Company v. Emery.

Service

In humility, we each have a unique combination of skills, resources, talents, abilities, and passions. This is not to place any of us above another, but rather to use what we have been given to meet the needs of others. We serve each other. We serve our clients. We serve our families. We serve our neighbors.

Compassion

Coming from a Latin word meaning “to suffer together with,” compassion can take many forms. At times, our compassion requires listening and understanding our client and their situation. Other times, our compassion requires action to alleviate the pain on the individual or systemic levels.

Integrity

In all we say and do, we will align with the highest ethical and moral standards, even and especially when no one is watching or when it is not easy. Honesty, accountability, reliability, and moral courage flow from integrity.
